My Project

I teach art to a very special group of students. We are a very close-knit community in West Rogers Park, Chicago. Our students are 88% low income and our community has been struggling during the pandemic. Since Covid, we have not been able to fundraise adequately. Our students rose to the occasion and created amazing artwork with whatever supplies we could fund and find. They are thriving in art classes and working just as hard as ever, but many families do not have the funds for quality art supplies. Our art program has a heavy social-emotional focus and our art curriculum creates a sense of community and offers students a safe place to learn. Student's mindsets have improved greatly with the gift of quality art supplies like these art markers, colored pencils, and printing ink and their work is work to be proud of.
