This is my first year teaching and I am so excited to help, love, and encourage 22 first graders this upcoming school year. Being able to help and watch these students grow is a big part as to why I want to be a teacher. I was extremely fortunate growing up because I was blessed with amazing teachers who truly impacted my life by pushing me and wanting the best for me. As a teacher now, I want to be that teacher for my future students. In order to make sure my students are set up for success in a loving and caring environment, I need to have supplies. Having the resources and supplies needed and on hand will help these students achieve amazing things in the walls of my classroom.
My Project
I am a first year teacher at a title 1 school which means some of my students may not have access or the money to get the supplies they need. I want to be able to supply my students with the tools and resources to be successful as their school career is just beginning.
As a first year teacher, I have put quite a bit of love, time, and money into my classroom already.
This is where I would love your help! Students need books, pencils, crayons, markers, glue, wipes, paper, and the list goes on.
Books are one of the main things that I have requested. One of my goals this year is to instill the value of kindness into our classroom through the use of relevant literature for children. The books that I have chosen do just that. They talk about being kind to one another, how to be a friend, not leaving anyone out, etc.
Having the tools, supplies, and resources available will help my students be able to grow as little learners in my classroom. I hope to create a lasting impact of their lives just like my teachers have done for me.
