Putting Hard Working and Educated Students to the Test!

My students need an external drive to be able to view our DVD curriculum on the white board with the projector as well as supplies for our new coffee business, like the shelving unit for organizing.

My Students

My students are very special indeed. We have the best group of young adults with special needs in my class. They have various disabilities, but they don't let anything get them down. They are enthusiastic and keep trying, no matter how hard things get for them.

They are starting their transition to the adult world and I am preparing them to be contributing citizens to our community.

We are starting off a busy year with many exciting activities and learning opportunities. They are showing me they are ready to learn and grow individually and as a group. I am proud to be their teacher. This will be an adventurous year!

My Project

My students have disabilities, but they don’t let that fact hold them back. I am always looking for ways to increase their independence and give them skills that will help them when they move on to an adult program. They love to work.

We are adding to our classroom businesses, currently a store and smoothie shop, by adding a coffee cart.

We need to organize the items needed and keep the work space clean. The markers, canvases, and paper holders will let them advertise our new business as well as do their morning work with a thicker writing instrument that’s easier to hold and will help our school budget with making less copies.

They are visual learners and we have great curriculum on DVD’s, but we are not able to play them because our laptop doesn’t have the capability. The external DVD drive will allow us to use all the curriculum that is just gathering dust right now by letting it be projected onto our screen and be larger than life. The DVD player that will connect to our laptop and then to our projector will peak the students’ interest and get them busy learning.
