Your generous donation of soil may seem like a simple gift, but it will make a big difference for our students.\r\n\r\nOur students have been working hard to maintain and grow our classroom garden. Having fresh, quality soil will give them the foundation they need to plant flowers, vegetables, and other plants and watch them grow. More importantly, the garden provides our students with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.\r\n\r\nOur students will have opportunities to practice following directions, measuring, planting, watering, caring for plants, and working together as a team. Gardening also helps our students develop important vocational and independent-living skills that they can use beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nFor many of our students, seeing something they planted grow from a small seed into a healthy plant is an exciting and rewarding experience. Your support is helping us create a garden where our students can learn, work, take responsibility, and feel proud of what they accomplish.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping our students dig in, get their hands dirty, and watch their hard work grow! The larger display makes it easier for students to clearly see the numbers and follow along as they work through each step, helping them build confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nThe label maker has also become an exciting tool for our classroom! Students enjoy creating labels to organize classroom materials, supplies, and items used for our student-run business. Technology like this gives our students meaningful hands-on opportunities to practice skills that they can use beyond the classroom. Some students have especially enjoyed seeing the labels they create immediately become part of our classroom organization, giving them a sense of ownership and pride in their work. One of the most meaningful moments has been watching students take pride in completing an item from start to finish—from choosing or creating a design to using the heat press and seeing the finished product. Their excitement and confidence have grown as they realize that the items they create are products that people can actually use and enjoy!\r\n\r\nThe next step for Doghouse Designs is to continue building our students' business and employment skills. As we grow, students will have opportunities to practice taking customer orders, communicating with customers, organizing materials, creating products, handling money, and learning the responsibilities involved in running a small business. What began as a simple idea—bringing more music into our weekly routine—has turned into an opportunity for students to discover their voices in ways I never could have imagined.\r\n\r\nWith these new tools, students eagerly participate in classroom karaoke sessions, turning moments of shyness into celebrations of courage. Their confidence is growing with every note they sing.\r\n\r\nBeyond singing, the speaker and microphones have helped students connect with each other socially.
