My Students

My third grade group consists of approximately 30 highly motivated, curious, and eager to learn 8 and 9 year old boys and girls. More than half the children that I service are English language learners, who come from largely Caribbean and Central American backgrounds. Our school is a Title I school where more than 75% of the student body receives free or reduced lunch. Due to budget constraints from the district, many of the supplies that are needed to achieve success for the children are not readily accessible. Any sponsorship of the supplies listed would be a great help and benefit for the students I service. I thank you in advance.

My Project

During the day, each student in class has the opportunity to enhance their literacy and math skills through online intervention programs. However, given that they are in close proximity to each other, the competing sounds from each computer is rather distracting and disruptive.

We are asking for quality headphones that are easy to maintain so that my students can listen intently to their own online instruction.

By giving to this project, you will help my students develop their phonics skills, reading comprehension and enjoyment, and math skills that they are learning over the course of the year. This will provide more order and focus during the most essential instruction in the school day.
