My Students
I teach 20 4-5 year olds in a public school. My school is housed in a community that is very family oriented. Most of my parents were students at the school themselves, having sat in the very same classroom as their children. I am able to communicate with my parents daily, thus creating a partnership with regards to their children's learning and growth. My students are creative and have a love for learning and are curious about their world. Each student is unique and brings a variety of experiences that make our classroom community a bright and exciting place to learn.
My Project
Gross motor is a very important part in child development. Child development is about taking care of the whole child. Children need to develop physically as well as socially and academically. Gross motor development provides children the opportunity to gain strength and endurance. Children also learn a great deal of balance and coordination. With these new materials, students will be able to increase their coordination, endurance and strength through riding the tricycles. Students will also be able to practice the social skills necessary in interacting with their peers and turn taking. This heavy duty balancing bike is necessary to last throughout the years.
