This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This is my second year teaching and I teach first grade at a Title I school. The majority of my first-grade students are English Language Learners. In our classroom, our students come in and work on STEM morning tubs as soon as they come in. My students find this fun and I find that it helps stimulate their young minds to get ready to learn. These STEM bins are not just used for arrival, they are also used during indoor recess, fun Fridays, or sometimes when we need a brain break.
By incorporating purposeful play into our classroom it will help my students engage in play-based learning as well as help stimulate their minds!
My first graders are still at a young age. They enjoy different types of play which include hands-on toys. Using these magnetic blocks, play-doh, marbles, and other toys will help keep my students engaged and excited to play and learn. These new additions to our classroom will encourage them to talk and question each other during playtime. will be delighted to embark on a transformative journey of discovery.
