Help me give my students access to 21st century technology with these two Samsung Chromebook 3. The power strip will enable us to create a station for all our chrome books to charge when not in use.
I teach in Lowell, Massachusetts. We are a pre-k to 8 school and draw from the entire city (as opposed to a neighborhood school). This is a low-income, urban school district. All our students receive free breakfast and lunch. I lead an active STEM Club (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) of about 40 students from grades 5 through 8.
My science students are a curious group of young people who strive for success.
They are interested in understanding how things work, but they lack some basic resources in our science lab.
My Project
In my school, our one shared computer cart for grades 7 and 8 has 8-year-old computers. On a good day, for a class of 28 students, we might find 18 working computers and some of those machines with missing keys are considered the “good ones.”
New Chromebooks will allow teachers to customize lessons for each student and help all scholars reach their ultimate potential.
I am working on building up our outdated technology a few Chromebooks at a time. We owe it to our students to provide 21st century tools to help them prepare for their 21st century lives. The addition of these two Chromebooks will give me enough so the entire class can do group work. By sharing these resources in a group, we can multiply the benefits of having access to technology.
