Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a community serving tuition-free public charter school operating on the King Estates Campus in Oakland, CA. We primarily serve minority students with a high population of students that are foster youth or housing unstable. Our school offers grades 6th-12th and works to provide a positive environment where students are safe and supported preparing them with a college prep education. We focus on creating a college prep curriculum that allows our students to graduate with credits that full-fill all of the UC A-G requirements.
My Project
For safety reasons, it is important that our students are in proper uniform each day to provide a quick visual way to identify our students.
This project will help students who come to school out of dress code by providing them loaner clothes for the day.
Due to safety reasons, if a student is not in uniform, we require them to do their school work for the day in the office. We have run out of clothes to provided students and are currently limited in sizes. Therefore, we are asking for clothing donations or monetary donations to purchase these items.
