Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Welcome to 8th-grade science, where students don't just memorize facts; they investigate, experiment, and discover! Every day, my students think like real-world scientists by analyzing data, tracking patterns, and sketching designs. However, breakthrough moments require great organization. Right now, our hard work often gets lost in backpacks. I want to change that by teaching my students an essential life skill: academic accountability.

This project will transform our classroom by creating a centralized, student-led Portfolio Hub in the back of the room.

With two Furinno 9-cube organizers, each of my four class sections will have a designated zone. Every student will receive a durable 1-inch view binder loaded with clear sheet protectors to house their lab reports, unit reflections, and growth charts.

This is more than just storage; it is a daily routine of excellence. Students will grab their portfolios at the start of class, document their learning, and return them to the hub before the bell rings. It establishes structure and removes the chaos of missing work.

Your support does so much more than buy supplies. You are giving these young scientists a tangible sense of pride. These portfolios will become the centerpiece of our student-led parent-teacher conferences, allowing my students to stand tall and physically showcase their best work to their families.
