Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students struggle to find a purpose for writing. They just don't see the need for it, yet 73.4% of employers want candidates with strong written communication skills. Students spend the year engaging in a variety of writing tasks for different audiences and purposes. Why not give them a motivating purpose for revising and publishing by creating classroom books?

With a coil binding machine, either individual students can bind books of their published writing or the classroom can combine published works to create themed books!

The books will create lasting memories for their family, can be used as independent reading books, and inspire generations of writers in future classes. This machine can also be used to create math notebooks, note-taking books, etc. The possibilities are endless! Help me empower my students to see writing for its diverse purposes!
