Our public elementary school with a high percentage of English Language Learners who come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Besides the high percentage of English learners, our school has a variety of different ethnic groups attending. Over 90% of the students in my school community qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.
My Project
My goal is to keep the classroom as safe as possible for them. In order to do that, I will need to have the following items that will provide a safer environment for us.
Evidence shows that certain precautions effectively decreases the risk of COVID-19 transmission; therefore, given the new regulations, students need to wear face coverings daily.
We already clean our hands multiple times daily by using hand sanitizer. We already have a classroom's air purifier. We are in need of face coverings. I am trying to help to keep the students safe in the classroom during this unprecedented time. I would like to provide parents with one Rapid COVID test for home.
We will use these masks daily to keep ourselves safe. Please help me provide a safe and healthy environment for my students and myself. These items will help me be one step closer to preventing the spread of COVID-19 transmission by having these safety devices in place.
