Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is located in southwest Detroit. My students come to school eager and ready to learn. A majority of my students are English Language Learners (ELL/ESL). Their native language is Spanish, with little English spoken at home. It is necessary to provide them with as many learning opportunities as possible within the classroom.
My students are amazing.
They are unique in their own ways and have different learning styles. A variety of learning tools and hands-on activities in my classroom are a must. My goal is to help them achieve all their goals and dreams.
My Project
My students need KN95 masks to keep them healthy and safe from Covid during the pandemic. Most of my students do not have access to the best PPE materials. My students would benefit from have the KN95 masks which provide better protection than regular surgical masks.
The KN95 masks have a filter efficiency of greater than 95% and are designed in a smaller size.
The masks will fit well, and the improved filtration will help to keep kids safer from any potential COVID-19 spread. While we keep the windows open and do everything we can to increase ventilation, KN95 masks for the students would make a huge impact on improving their overall protection.
