Promoting Positive Interaction

My Students

My students are 2nd and 3rd-grade students in the Learning Lab. These students have varying behavior problems that we work on daily. My classroom is made up of 4-10 students at any given time. These students have a daily goal that they must meet to move up on their behavior ladder. Each students goal is to transition back into the larger classroom setting.

My goal, as their teacher, is to provide a classroom where my students feel comfortable expressing their problems in a positive way and teaching them appropriate ways to display their frustration/anger.

By doing these things each of my students will be able to transition back into the larger classroom setting with success!

My Project

I have created this project with behavior skills in mind. My students will use these STEM activities and bundle sets to practice their problem-solving skills, social and teamwork skills.

By using these items, not only will they challenge my students, but they will allow for me to better help them in difficult situations when their frustration levels may rise and we can use our coping skills to conquer the negative behaviors.

I have included calm-down materials in this project to use during those moments of frustration. The students will be able to use these balls and sand when they become overwhelmed or frustrated during any activity.

In my classroom, we work on problem-solving skills daily to help us become better learners in a larger classroom setting. By funding this project my students will have even more opportunities to practice positive classroom interactions and ways to de-escalate their frustration.
