My students need additional playground materials that will help support our "stations" for varied opportunities that will promote smaller groups for playground safety and promote communication and teamwork.
We are a Title I magnet elementary school. We have a large population of Kindergarten students who may not have had an opportunity for enriched home environments or preschool experiences. We have a very diverse population, both academically, socially and emotionally. Our students are wonderful about embracing and appreciating our diversity!
Our overall school goal is to increase collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking.
We are working to improve our academic experiences by integrating technology, STEM, and hands-on learning throughout our day. Our goal, as teachers, is to ignite a lifelong love of learning!
My Project
Our playground is in need of materials to vary student outdoor learning experiences. The addition of playground materials will help support our outdoor "stations" so that children are given choice.
These materials will allow children the opportunity to explore their gift and talents through outdoor play.
Providing varied play materials and opportunities will promote smaller groups for playground safety and promote communication and teamwork. We would love to add a waffle block set, basketballs, jumbo blocks, a soccer set, hula hoops, and other items to our play stations that build teamwork and support creativity.
Students will be introduced to active learning opportunities that might not be available to them at home. We will include team sports (soccer, flag football etc.), outdoor art, dramatic play and building and engineering opportunities for all learners.
