My Students

Farmington Career Academies focuses on providing students with training and education about various careers they are interested. By providing mentor groups, hands-on activities with professionals from the areas, and equipment to help train them, our school is setting out to prepare out students. The library media center is specifically gearing itself toward providing technology and resources to students who have a plethora of interests and career goals.

Growing up in an ever-changing world, our students are working hard to strive and attain the skills needed to keep up and succeed.

By focusing on STEAM, the library media center will be able to provide resources to our students so they can be better prepared for life outside of high school.

My Project

Oftentimes our students are not given the opportunity to express their creativity and interests in ways they see fit, especially if that student, in particular, believes he or she is not creative. Many students worry about designing and creating for fear of what others may think and judgments that may come. By providing students with a means to explore their creativity and express themselves, we are teaching tolerance for others' ideas and products.

Using a popular means of creation such as a Cricut, students are opening other people's eyes to the many ways one can express himself or herself.

Students can create monograms for cups, graphics for t-shirts, stickers for computers or cars. The opportunities for these students to show their creative side and accept the creativity of others is endless. Tolerance is the acceptance of others' opinions, beliefs, and ideas. By providing students with an opportunity to express their ideas, they are also learning about tolerating the ideas and creations of others.
