Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach and work with fifth grade students in math, science, and social studies. Our school is a Title I school. 99% of our school's population has low socio-economic status and is at-risk, with 1 or more early warning factors.
With nurturing, motivation, and encouragement by our teachers and staff, many of our students are able to overcome their obstacles and move on to pursue successful careers.
Our students are risk-takers, rise to challenges they are presented with, easily motivated, eager to learn, and energetic.
My Project
My students look forward to science everyday. They enjoy the hands-on activities and discussions that take place because of unexpected results. They like being in charge of their learning. They focus on observing, exploring, discovering, and investigating.
Science is the time of the day where they can feel successful in their learning.
When students put on their lab coats, goggles, and gloves, and carry their clipboards, they will get excited about being scientists and take their role as such in their work. I want them to keep that momentum and drive. Your generous donation will help me do just that.
