Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a variety of diverse backgrounds throughout the greater San Diego area rich in ethnic diversity and a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds.

My students are diverse, curious, resilient and excited for more authentic connections to LITERATURE through a plethora of rich text, activities, and relevant content from diverse authors and resources.

I am elated to provide authentic experiences and connections to text-based activities to foster a deeper love of the written word and and understanding of it's amazing connections to our daily life. Thank you for helping me show my students how rich and rewarding a love for LITERATURE can be and how it can open opportunities for their professional careers, wherever they may lead!

My Project

Writing is an essential form of communication. Encouraging students through displaying their work with the help of this COLOR BUTCHER PAPER will hopefully help them to see the importance of our assignments and projects.

COLORFUL BUTCHER PAPER will allow us to display projects in the classroom and around the school, celebrating student academic achievements!

With the help of these resources, we will be able to do more COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS with other subjects as well, such as detailed diagrams and models in Science, timelines in History, and infographics in Math! Creating posters with Visual Terminology is another collaborative project to show how writing and literacy connect to all aspects of STEM and important for communicating information and ideas. These resources will allow us to post our learning to foster a community of excellence within our academics on campus through highlighting the importance of writing through all subjects.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
