This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

To be part of the 21st Century, we have to be experienced in science and technology. The reality for my students is that science and problem solving are the areas in which these students will finds jobs in the future.

My 7th grade students attend a great middle school in Northern Illinois.

The students are very excited about science and are beginning to understand how science affects their daily lives. They are bright, quick learners. These 7th graders cannot seem to get enough of the new science that the school and teachers are now teaching. The labs and demonstrations give students opportunities that they have yet to be given. The 7th grade students are part of a low socially economic area with very limited experience with science and technology.

My Project

I am requesting a new document camera. This resource will allow me to demonstrate labs in the classroom on a screen to a whole class setting. All students will be able to see the labs and teacher demonstrations that they usually have to fight to get close enough to see.This resource will allow students to share ideas quickly and effectively by displaying their work on the camera and projecting it to the screen. This will allow them to also work on presentation skills.

This document camera will allow more students to be involved in science learning.

My job as a science teacher is to get each and every one of my students to see the value and importance of their science education.
