Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a diamond in the rough, the central point in a very low-income, high crime neighborhood. It is one of the few safe places for our students to socialize, learn, and grow.
My third graders are eager to learn and will overcome all of the obstacles that they face on a daily basis.
How can we end this cycle of poverty, without giving these students the tools in which they need to transform into tomorrow's future leaders? Developing learners that are self motivated and confident in their abilities is a great start.
My Project
The projector in our classroom is a central point and a necessity for all of our learning. Recently out projector has began its decline to being unreadable and very grainy. Unfortunately I have tried replacing the bulb, only to find out that the issue is a digital chip inside the projector, that our IT department is unable to and unwilling to try and repair or replace.
They are convinced that it would not be cost effective to repair the projector and do not have and are not purchasing replacements.
So basically what we have is what we get, and what we have is usable for only a short amount of time.
