Projecting Learning in Kindergaten

My students need a projector and VGA Adapter so they all can see pictures and videos of the subjects we are learning about.

My Students

"Miss Mahoney! I can't see!" This is often heard from my 21 K2 students when we are sharing information from our classroom laptop on the classroom rug.

My Kindergarten students are the hardest working, interesting and fun loving group of 5 years old you will ever meet.

They give their best in everything they do and are always searching out new information on a daily basis. Many of my students come from a diverse economic backgrounds and some may not have been exposed to the same information or situations as their peers. As an inner city school there is often never extra money to buy materials like projectors to use in our classrooms.

My Project

This projector would be used a variety of ways in my K2 classroom. Within our curriculum there is many times when I have to or want to show pictures or videos to allow the students to see things that they may have never seen before. For example, when we are learning about the life cycle of the frog I show a video that shows the cycle in real-life and this projector would allow them all to see it clearly. Also, when they ask questions about different topics I could easily show them pictures or videos to make what we are talking about more clear to them. As visual learners having the ability to show them would help make explaining topics more clear and concrete for them to understand.

This projector would make it so that all my children will be able to see things from the rug to enhance their learning.

There would be no more crowding around a little screen all trying to see what I am showing them.
