Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students and I want to help keep children in local hospitals warm this winter by creating cozy fleece blankets for local hospitals. We are asking for fleece by the yard so that we can create handmade blankets. Fleece blankets can easily be created in a no sew fashion so that all students can participate in this community service project.

The handmade blankets will be donated to the New Jersey Chapter of Project Linus.

This organization has donated more than 9 million blankets to children since 1995.

We would love to be able to be a part of this organization!

The goal is to teach our students compassion and empathy through this service project!! We want to instill the importance of community and giving back!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
