My students need a projector, document camera, and a protection plan. These tools will engage my students, and make learning come alive each day in the classroom.
My new classroom does not have the supplies I am requesting. I want students to have the tools that will allow me to make reading, writing, and math clear to students in my classroom. These tools will allow me to model lessons, share student work and make learning engaging for students.
This year, I am very excited about teaching first grade in a small inner city school.
It will be very exciting to work with students in first grade, and see their academic growth across the year. I look forward to meeting my students in the fall and learning more about each student.
My Project
These resources will make it possible for me to begin a Reader's Workshop mini-lesson on nonfiction texts with a large nonfiction text that all students can see on the white board. It will allow me the opportunity to point out and discuss the components of a non-fiction text such as diagrams, bold print, headings, and the glossary as I am reading the book. It will also allow students to share what they notice about a nonfiction text.
After the lesson, students will go and look for the same components in their non-fiction books in their book bins, and a few students will share a page they found using the document camera this will provide students the opportunity to share what they found. It will get students using the vocabulary and discussing the different components of nonfiction books. This lesson will help my students to get ready to create their own nonfiction books.
These donations will improve my classroom by making it possible for me to add a digital part to many of my lessons.
This addition will make my lessons captivating to students and make learning fun. It will also make my students lives better by providing them with experiences, information, and field trips around the world without ever leaving the classroom.
