My Students
The students come from an inner city in Connecticut. It is a Title I school and the majority of the students are minorities. They are hard-working and determined to graduate high school (for some, the first in their family) and aspire to do great things.
This year I teach Anatomy and Physiology, Marine Biology and Forensics.
These classes are all electives and I would like the students to have fun activities to do in class. I try to help out and volunteer within the community, so I am also the adviser for the National Honor Society.
My Project
Every year I assign a few projects per class, usually research on an animal or human disease or disorder. I let the students choose how to present their research, either with an online presentation, such as Google slides, or with a poster. Unfortunately, a lot of students tell me they would like to make a poster but they do not have the funds to buy supplies to make it look nice, or they don't have transportation to go buy the supplies.
I am asking for these art supplies so that the students can create some eye catching, professional looking posters.
The poster paper, paint, glue, glitter and coloring utensils will be used to help create artistic interpretations of their research findings.
