Our students are incredibly creative and innovative. They continually raise the bar with their ownership of learning and bravery to try new things. Our elementary school is a special place; as the only district in the state without a racial majority, we celebrate the diversity of our classrooms by affirming our variety of cultures, languages, and learning styles. Though many of our students live in poverty and some are homeless, their resiliency speaks volumes about their capability and agency to change their community! My students deserve to experience all the world has to offer; they deserve to be heard. They benefit from being able to create, explore, and collaborate with others. We build community and character through rich experiences and support all learners, even when faced with low funding.
This project will serve the underserved children at our school. Many students do without proper hygiene, food, and critical clothing items. It is extremely difficult to learn algebra when you do not have your basic needs met! This project will ensure that our students will have clean clothing.
Many of our students deal with homelessness or transiency and come to school needing basic need type items.
Our students deal with many adversities and having clean clothing or clothing, in general, should not be one of their concerns. The requested sweatpants will ensure that students will have a clean pair of pants when needed. Your donation will help the students at our school focus on their academics and have one less thing to worry about. Please help me let our kids be kids and take a concern off of their plate.
