Help me give my students headphones for testing, listening to audio books, and programs that will help them learn reading, math, science, and social study skills.

My Students

My students are fifth graders in a lower income school. We are a Title One school. My students are happy to be in class even dealing with the stress of a pandemic. Many students have missed multiple days of school this year, so they are working hard to catch up and stay caught up.

My Project

Headphones will help students work through learning sites at their own pace. They will also use headphones for listening to audio books in order to have help reading at grade level or just above. Headphones will also help students with tests, test practice, and end of level tests.

Students will use expo markers for individual responses in whole class settings and in small groups, especially after using the headphones to gather information and show what they know.

Markers allow students to work through math problems and show their thinking on a white board. Markers make it easy to adjust thinking and change what they have written.

Mechanical Pencils and lead will be used for writing, drafting writing ideas, responding to text, mapping social studies concepts, and taking notes.

The books will help fifth graders enjoy engaging literature and to work in small groups reading and discussing entertaining leveled text.

These tools will be especially helpful in this pandemic year, as students are working hard to learn new skills, catch up on missed skills from being out, and being able to have the tools they need to excel.
