Project : Engaging Center Activities

My students need the phonemic awareness skill set activities, addition activity game, number match activities for engaging them in fun learning to strengthen skills and the calendar to use to work in centers.

My Students

Have you ever been woken up by 19 puppies just wanting to lick your face and play? So much love and excitement that you can't just help but love to join in on all of the fun? My class is just like this, but minus the paw prints, four legs and a few other characteristics. Every morning, I am greeted with eager students ready to learn. Excited for what the day may entail. Their smiling faces ready for a new journey, adventure and way to learn. All coming from different backgrounds, ethnicities, and family styles. My students have the warmest hearts, silliest laughs and the best creative minds around.

In order to build these creative minds, their thinking and ideas are supported just as much as they are.

Centers give students an opportunity to practice skills in many different ways. Different skills can help students grow and strengthen weak skills in reading and math. These activities will engage and allow students to have fun and ownership of their learning.

My Project

The materials I am requesting are going to be used to engage and involve students of all learning levels. The phonemic awareness package will meet specific needs that that students will need to practice and strengthen skills like counting syllables, identifying the beginning, middle and ending sounds in words, substituting sounds for other sounds to prepare for reading. The stronger students are in phonemic awareness, the more their readiness is for reading and writing. And it will be fun because each activity is different and can be played with partners.

The math activities such as the key game and the addition game will help students match numbers to a specific amount of dots and then, the addition to practice using manipulatives to help them count.

The calendar chart will help students identify the date, as well as using it for a reference with place value, patterns, and so much more!
