Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are currently participating in our Dual Language Program in our school district. They are concurrently learning English and Spanish in all subject areas as part of the 50/50 model. This is their sixth year in the program since most students entered the program during kindergarten. This year my students have created various Project-Based Learning to increase their real-life connections. In my classroom, we work as a team and motivate each other through active learning. All of our students have the opportunity to participate in the program throughout the school district.

My Project

This project will help my students enhance their creativity when working on Project-Based Learning activities, increasing their retention and comprehension through various topics and subjects throughout the school year. These resources will provide organization skills to independently complete their research. Binders and folders will be utilized to keep research projects organized by subjects.

Students will have access to the classroom printer to aid in the creation of projects displays in Science and Social Studies.

Students love to create projects in various topics and are always looking for creative ways to present their research. It is always important to challenge our students, increase accountability and provide real-life connections to their learning in school. My students enjoy doing computer and technology-based assignments and working cooperatively with classmates.

As students complete their project they must present to our class and other grade levels to inspire others to read and research about various topics. This is probably the most difficult part for any students and I would like to reward their efforts with some fun tokens to keep as desk pets. Let's continue to support and foster their love of learning.
