My Project

Ozobots are simple little robots that can be used for so many things. They are a great way to introduce students to the world of STEM and coding. They can be used with or without additional technology and that is what makes these robots great. Students can learn coding simply by using black, green, blue, and red markers. The robot will follow the lines the students draw and when they put the colors in color-coded blocks, the robot will read that as a code that might tell the robot to spin, turn left, do a dance, etc. The magnetic blocks are the perfect adaptation for my students who struggle with fine motor skills and need assistance with creating these color codes. Once my students have learned the basics of how the codes work with color, we can use our school iPads to use the Ozoblockly App to use block programing to code the new Ozobots.

We can do things such as read the book Balloons Over Broadway and then create our own movable Thanksgiving Day Parade using the Ozobots to create floats that we program to move around the parade route.

I have an amazing group of students that love to learn new things and always enjoy learning through hands-on activities. As a school librarian, these items will be available for every student in our school. Thank you for helping to make this possible for them!
