This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our city and school have seen a large increase in immigrant and refugee students over the past three years. In our small school of 250 students, we have welcomed over 45 refugee students in the past year. These students have very unique needs that we are just beginning to understand. Our staff is adapting and learning as quickly as we can, but we need more resources to help create the best learning environment possible. These books will help us design programs, classrooms, and experiences that are responsive to the needs of our students.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
