My Students

The kids in my class are incredible. They're fast learners and very dedicated to their academics. It's a pleasure getting to have these guys for a small portion of their school day. In my class, they get to take a breather from the stress of everyday academics to focus on music!

Since they are such fast learners, they're always on top of or ahead of where they're supposed to be.

With their ability to learn so quickly, I'm always busy finding new activities to do with them. Now for the good stuff!

My Project

I am driven to see that my students have fun. Considering how hard they work, I want them to be able to cut-loose and enjoy all aspects of music, starting with the boom-whackers and shakers. The kids make beats on the tables and on their bodies all the time. Why not give them tools they can use instead of just their bodies? I'd love to give them the chance to use instruments that aren't traditional, such as violins, recorders, flutes and drums. I want to go off-script and off-book with these guys and see how far their imaginations can go! Sky's the limit!
