My Students

I have amazing 7th and 8th grade students who love to explore and curious about so many things. They love Science since it relates to things they observe around them and it even connects to them.

Learning by seeing motivates my students but learning by doing makes them understand it.

With this in mind, I've always been doing demonstrations in class to present my lessons and followed it up with lab experiments and projects so they get to experience and learn from it.

A lot of my students are very vocal of saying that they love Science. But even if they don't say it, it gives me fulfillment as a teacher whenever I see them doing hands-on activities and their eyes widen and their lips smile every time they observe something amazing. At the end of the day, remembering their "thank yous" is enough to pay off my tiredness and refreshes me to look forward to another engaging lesson the next day.

My Project

The new trend in teaching Science is to integrate Math, Arts, Technology and Engineering. I've been using a lot of Math integration to teach my 7th and 8th grade students, from graphing to problem solving.

But the challenge is the shortage of calculators and stopwatches for my dedicated students to use.

We use bar and line graphs to present our lab experiment data and we also calculate problems when we're learning force, motion and speed. I will definitely share the calculators to our Math department and the stopwatches to our P.E. department if it's needed.

I am hoping that this problem will be solved so my students can be better at problem solving. Thank you in advance.
