My Project

Whenever I teach printmaking with cut out foam glued on cardboard plates, my students' eyes always light up at the magic of seeing their creative work transfer onto paper. "I made this!" is a common expression after a student makes their first print in my class, and they instantly feel the joy of printmaking. I want to now expand their knowledge of printmaking by introducing another fun way to create prints by using Lego tiles and base plates! My students adore methods that use materials in unexpected ways. What is more unexpected than printmaking with legos? My students are all boys and predominately black, and often times their perception of what art is and what art can be is limited to drawing and painting. Please help me in providing my students with the joy of unconventional methods in printmaking!
