This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach a diverse group of 75 students in a small, rural community. We have 37 girls and 38 boys from all walks of life in our room. My students are some of the sweetest, smartest children I have ever met.
My 4th grade students need to be actively engaged for all content areas.
They are hard workers and want to learn. They enjoy STEM activities, online technology, and playing educational games. Not only do they strive to do their best, they always try to encourage one another as well.
My Project
Our community was hit with heavy flooding due to the recent hurricane. This left some students without supplies and others lost textbooks due to water damage. Now our school has run out of copy paper.
My students need to be engaged in their learning!
I use copy paper to provide guided notes for students who struggle with writing. I print off leveled passages to help my struggling readers learn content on their appropriate reading level. I also use copy paper to create Escape Rooms where my students solve content-related puzzles. Without copy paper, we are having to use our textbooks more and they do not cover everything my students need to learn.
