My Project

Donors Choice for a Classroom Printer

My classroom serves students enrolled in multiple Health Science pathway courses including Medical Terminology, EMT, Pharmacology, Gateway to CNA, and Health Science.

These courses require high volumes of printed instructional materials because students learn through hands-on practice, written medical vocabulary, patient-care scenarios, documentation exercises, worksheets, and certification preparation activities.

Unlike many traditional classrooms, healthcare education relies heavily on repetition, written practice, and real-world simulation. My students physically write out medical terminology, complete patient care forms, practice medication safety scenarios, and work through EMT and CNA skills activities that mirror real healthcare environments. Many students learn and retain information better through active written practice rather than solely digital instruction.

Currently, our school shares a limited number of printers among a large staff, often creating long waits and limiting quick access to instructional materials. Because I teach several different healthcare courses each day, I print a significant amount of curriculum materials, guided notes, assessments, lab activities, and skills-based learning tools for students.

A reliable classroom printer would allow students to consistently access the materials they need to succeed in rigorous healthcare courses while improving classroom efficiency and reducing lost instructional time. This resource would directly support career readiness, workforce preparation, and hands-on learning opportunities for future healthcare professionals.
