This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our K–8 technology makerspace, students are discovering how creativity can support both learning and well-being. We use 3D printing as a tool for mindfulness, problem-solving, and self-expression. My students love designing projects that connect to their feelings and mental health—whether it’s a fidget to help them focus, a keychain with an encouraging message, or a small gratitude token to share with a friend.

These 3D printing projects have become a powerful way for students to build confidence, reduce stress, and feel proud of their accomplishments.

With new PLA filament, my students can continue designing objects that help them stay calm and express positive emotions. The process of creating, troubleshooting, and seeing a final print teaches patience and resilience—skills that go far beyond the classroom. Each completed design becomes a reminder that persistence and creativity can lead to success.

The filament in this project will make a big difference in their learning because they keep our makerspace running and accessible to all students. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment where technology is more than a subject—it’s a space for self-discovery and growth. My students are special because they bring curiosity, imagination, and heart to everything they create. Even when challenges arise, they support each other and celebrate each success as a team. Through this project, they’ll continue learning how innovation and compassion can work hand in hand.
