Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am working with a group of bright-eyed, eager first graders. I have 25 students who love to explore the world around them.

Every morning, I am able to greet my first graders and help them learn through centers, investigation, and teamwork.

Some of them grab a book to read, others will work on the computer, or practice their sight words with a buddy. They love to have a little free time in the morning to choose an activity they enjoy.

I work in an elementary school in Brooklyn and my students receive free breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately, many of the students start the year off without the proper supplies and are not exposed to basic simple activities to help them learn their letters and numbers. But they love working in their groups and exploring the materials around them.

My Project

I am requesting the Vupoint Solution photo cartridges so we can easily print our pictures that we take. Many of my parents work and are not able to attend some of our special days in class, when our students get certificates for being star students, and making "wise choices".

I remember when I was in first grade, my mom coming to my school for every performance or award.

Many more parents are working now, therefore miss out on a few of their child's special moments.

We will use the photo cube to print pictures from our trips and fun activities. I like to give my my students pictures of them involved in an activity and encourage them to write about it.
