In our low-income/high poverty school, my students encounter many obstacles and challenges not only in the classroom setting, but also in their community. Nonetheless, they are academically driven and strive to learn as much as they can.
My students come from diverse backgrounds and one thing they all have in common is their love for learning.
My students are not only academically driven, they are also kind individuals who want to make their society an equitable place to live and be part of.
As we progress to a paperless society, physical student work is often kept to a minimum. Students type their essays, projects, and creative pieces and often their inspirational words stay in the virtual realm. Without access to a reliable printer, I am unable to print student work to display and showcase their talent.
A printer will make it possible for students to become motivated and inspired to continue growing as writers because their words and their peers' work will be printed and displayed for all to see.
Often the best reward one can receive is praise and acknowledgment for one's hard work and effort. My students will be so elated to see their writing on display which will result in more eager writers.
