Printing in the Art Room

Help me give my students the opportunity to create unique repeating patterns and Art prints!

My Project

A few years ago we were given a small printer for our Art room. With that printer we mastered printing greeting cards that showcase our Artwork. We incorporate Photoshop and format beautiful 5x7 greeting cards. Our community loves our greeting cards, so we would like to expand what we offer to our community.

We would like to offer larger Art Prints and repeating designs (like wrapping paper) during our spring Art Show.

We would need a printer that accepts rolls of 24" paper. We are asking for a Cannon Image PROGRAF TC-20 printer. This is a new printer that prints on 24" rolls as well as individual papers as large as 11x17. We are asking for rolls of coated paper as well as various papers that we can cut to create unique Art Prints.

This printer would help us add exciting new projects to our curriculum. We would be able to teach students how to build a pattern tile or rapport. They could design a tile and then turn it into a repeating pattern. Creating the pattern would be fun, but with this printer our students could actually print sheets of their finished pattern. We could even create wrapping paper to offer to our community at our spring Art Show. This is the same way designs for fabric and wallpaper are created.

This printer would also allow us to create individual Art Prints. We could offer prints of our students work protected by archival Art bags at our spring Art Show. This would allow our student's parents to keep their original work. I think they would really like that. Thank you for your consideration!
