We have successfully started a repeating pattern assignment. We are linking this assignment to the Artist Walter Anderson from Ocean Springs, Mississippi. The Walter Anderson Foundation will have an Art Show at our local Arts Center this April. We are excited to see his beautiful work. We are drawing animals and plants from the Gulf Coast. We are turning our 8\"x8\" tiles into large prints. \r\nThis project introduces Textile Design and Graphic Design. I have a degree in Interior Design, and I loved creating repeating patterns in college. I almost took a job with Waverly hand painting wallpaper cells. These types of assignments help our students realize that they can find successful careers in Art. \r\nThe orange and green elephant pattern was designed by one of my special needs students. He loved this assignment because it repeated. He is very precise, and the repetition really made his pattern come alive. Wouldn't these patterns make fun wrapping paper or wallpaper? \r\nBecause we have new paper we can try new projects. Our card stock will be perfect for paper collage, and the watercolor paper will be a treat during our next painting unit. Thank you so much for offering this grant. I have written grants to Thea before, but unfortunalty I was unable to find a company willing to match my grant. This fully funded opportunity honoring Paul's birthday was just awesome! I'll be honest I'm praying you consider offering this opportunity again. Thank you for helping my students. My students are very talented, and it is so much fun to be able to offer them new techniques.","fullyFundedDate":1731085617591,"projectUrl":"project/printing-in-the-art-room/8911131/","projectTitle":"Printing in the Art Room","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Harwell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2759860_orig.jpg?crop=1684,1684,x0,y106&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762272503186","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2759860"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_56401","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1234,"numTeachers":105,"percentFrplEligible":69,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":45,"percentWhite":35,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":19.5,"schoolId":56401,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about El Dorado High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"El Dorado High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arkansas/el-dorado-school-district/el-dorado-high-school/56401"}
