I teach 5th and 6th grade art. My students are very talented! This year we designed artwork for our new School Based Health Center. My students mastered acrylic painting. They painted self-portraits and family portraits for our Health Center. Last year we wrote a book about our town. We created pen and ink illustrations of many things that make our town a special place to call home. Last year we won two second place state awards for our pen and ink illustrations. This year one of my students had her self-portrait chosen for the state art exhibit. Her painting will travel the state and even be on display at Children's Hospital. Our school is very proud of its Art Department. Our teachers value the arts and understand how important a strong art education is for our students.
