Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The children that are in my classroom I have learned are very resilient. About 95% of my students are socioeconomically disadvantaged, often coming to school hungry because school is the only place they get a meal. They still come to school and sign-on to our Google Meets with a drive and willingness to learn.

Many of my wonderful students not only need a teacher, but they need a mentor, friend, and in many cases, a mother too.

I can tell several of these kids come to school thinking they are not important- as that's how it sometimes shown at home. My job is to make them think differently.

My Project

Since we are now in a mostly digital world, my students are completing projects online. Since many don't have a color printer at home, they are not able to have their beautiful and bright work hanging on the wall at home or in the classroom. I believe having something tangible would make them motivated to be creative in their work.

With your help, my students will be able to bring their projects to life by printing in color.

This inkjet printer along with the photo paper will allow me to print out beautiful projects for my students to take home and for me to display around the room. Not only that, but I would also be able to print colorful posters and visual aids to assist in their learning.
