This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students in my classroom are seventh-grade special education students. They have intellectual, sensory, and emotional impairments that are aided by inclusion in a small classroom setting. My students struggle with mathematics and science concepts. This year, our goals are to build confidence in our foundational skills and to become more engaged with our learning. One of the best tools for students with special needs is the use of visuals. I do print out plenty of pictures for them in black and white, but I feel that it would reach them better if they could use those pictures in color to help them. If this project is funded, the printer and cartridges will go to use immediately to help these children achieve success academically. This color printer will give me the opportunity to provide important resources, assignments and visuals in color to my students.
