Ms. Simpson from Detroit MI is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students an Epson Workforce color printer and paper for creating center games and awards when they achieve their goals! A rolling cart will also be a great help!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My second-grade students are amazing, energetic, fun-loving children, who have a drive to learn. They are like sponges absorbing all the information they can. The students are from an urban low-income area. Most of my children are Spanish speaking with English as a second language. Most of the parents are Spanish speaking. This makes it difficult for the students to receive help with homework.
Our focus for learning is small groups with activities that will engage the students while teaching them.
Matching and sorting, phonics sets, sequencing, and writing stories, comprehension and math activities will help each child learn at their own pace. The variety of activities and learning will help small intervention groups. Children enjoy learning with me in their small groups. We are able to create four groups of six in each group.
I want to provide all of my students with materials that are best suited for their needs. Our public school bends over backwards to help our students as much as possible, but budget cuts have severely cut funding.
The printer in our classroom stopped working, and due to budget cuts, our district has decided not to purchase printers for the classroom.
The addition of an Epson Workforce color printer, paper, and storage cart will allow me to add to my students learning success and achievements!
They love to work with their classmates in a small group. They share their ideas and get excited as they collaborate on various reading and math tasks. This printer will allow me to create and print learning centers in color!
Secondly, a goal of mine is to provide my students with achievement awards and reward them for all of their successes. The color printer, along with certificates, will allow me to create awards for them all! They deserve to be recognized for their achievements!
By donating to this project, not only will you make learning more exciting in my classroom, but you will improve their academic achievement and help acknowledge them for their success!
