My Students

I am a first grade teacher, living in a small town with big student needs. They come from diverse backgrounds and are often struggling with more than academics. Nonetheless, my students are full of energy and potential!

I strive to create a safe and engaging classroom where they feel loved and develop a love for learning.

Teaching students how to read is one of my greatest joys as a teacher. I love giving students the confidence and tools to decode text, create meaning, and share their thoughts! In our classroom, everyone is a learner and everyone is a teacher.

My Project

My students love to take photos of their work and projects. They also create presentations, posters, games and stories that showcase their learning. In order to share these with their families, classmates and hallway displays, they prefer to print them. However, my students have declared:

Black and white is BORING.

An HP Instant Ink printer would allow my students access to COLOR printing. At this time, I purchase expensive ink cartridges to use in my personal home printer. This printer that I could use in my classroom uses an ink subscription service that replenishes based on how many pages are used, not how much ink. This makes color printing EASY and AFFORDABLE for me to maintain.
