This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are witty, clever, and each has a great sense of humor. They each have unique personalities and learning styles, with their needs differing greatly.
They are the epitome of resilience, persevering despite the many difficulties they have endured and they teach me something new every day.
Teaching students with disabilities means I must utilize my creativity, which is what initially brought me to this platform. My students encourage me in ways they may not be aware of. As a result, I constantly seek opportunities and resources to give my students a quality and engaging educational experience.
My Project
When teaching diverse learners, we must use every resource available to us in order to assist students with higher needs. A major part of this role is constant communication with our students and their families on the progress being made towards their goals.
While we are learning virtually, exceptional educators must still send a total of 8 reports regarding annual goals for each student on our caseload, but we cannot return to the buildings in order to print and mail these key updates.
I am asking for your assistance in the acquisition of a printer, ink, filler paper for IEP documents, colored paper for urgent notices, a printer stand, and a shredder for safely discarding sensitive information. Equally important are postage stamps, envelopes, return address stamp, and tabs that indicate where parent and student signatures are required.
These items are key and will be taken back to the building for use when schools safely reopen in my district. Additionally, the printer will assist students with important applications for scholarship and internship opportunities once we return.
We are grateful for your assistance during these trying times and hope you all continue to stay safe.
