This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Imagine you teach first grade. Think of all the times you would need a printer. You'd need to print materials for your students, letters to your parents, forms for school files, papers for school administrators...the list goes on and on. So please, won't you help buy my first grade class a printer?
My students go to a Title I school in South Florida.
Most of the children come from low-income households. The students in my class are learning to speak English. They are all Hispanic. Their parents come from Central and South America. The children are a dream. They are cute as only first graders can be, friendly and always eager to learn.
My Project
There is a wealth of materials for first-graders on the internet, but to get that material into the hands of my children I need a printer. I consulted with our school technician about the printer to buy, and he recommended the HP laserjet printer featured in this project. It is economical. It only prints in black and white and it is relatively inexpensive to keep it supplied with ink.
Please help me teach my students 2014-style.
It is a terrible shame that our classroom shouldn't have a printer. Help me get those internet materials to my wonderful first graders! Thank you!
