My Students

My students are a diverse group of kids living in Brooklyn, NY that strive to succeed. They speak many different languages and come from various cultures and countries, some even new to the country just learning the language. This year I will be teaching in an Intergrated learning classroom, which means there will be two teachers and half the class will be special education students and the other half are general education students. We will also have many students that are new to the country and just learning english. They all come from various socioeconomic backgrounds, but most come from low income households. My students range in all levels of learning. My school is a wonderful community of different learners that all work together to do their best. My students are always eager to come to school and learn new things, even in this new world of education. Keeping them safe and educated is my biggest concern.

My Project

This year most of the work our student have done has been on the computer. Many of them do not own printers of their own. This makes it hard to submit and display a hard copy of all the work they have done. We have only one printer that the whole grade has to share, and it is only black and white. Now that we have been remote for so long, learning how to use computers has been a huge part of the education we are teaching.

It would be so nice to be able to print out and display all the beautiful work our student have done to share with others that walk by our classroom.

Having a printer and ink for our classes use could really help with this. I have been printing from my home computer and printer, but ink can get expensive. Having one in the classroom would be a wonderful addition to the work these students have created.
