My Project

My gifted middle school students are full of ideas, big, creative, outside-the-box ideas. What they need is the opportunity to bring those ideas to life. With access to 3D printing filament, my students will be able to design, prototype, and create real, tangible objects that reflect their creativity, problem-solving skills, and determination.

3D printing transforms learning into an active, hands-on experience.

Students will use design software to create original models, test their designs, and refine them through multiple iterations. They will quickly learn that great ideas don’t happen on the first try, and that persistence, attention to detail, and critical thinking are key to success.

This project gives students the freedom to explore engineering, design, and innovation at their own level. Whether they are creating functional tools, solving real-world problems, or simply bringing imaginative concepts to life, they are fully engaged in meaningful learning. Their only limitation becomes their willingness to put in the work and push their thinking further.

For many of my students, traditional assignments don’t fully tap into their potential. They need challenges that are open-ended, rigorous, and rewarding. 3D printing provides exactly that. It encourages them to take risks, embrace failure as part of the process, and develop solutions through creativity and perseverance.

The requested filament will ensure that students have consistent access to materials needed to design and print their creations without interruption. This resource will turn our classroom into a space where ideas become reality. By supporting this project, you are helping students move beyond imagination and into innovation, one print at a time.
