This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is a Title I school located in the great state of Louisiana. I teach fifth grade math, ELA, science, and social studies and use Zearn and Engage NY to reach each individual student. Our classroom is a true community of learners where higher order thinking skills, open-ended questions, and continuous discovery are essential for success. Students monitor their learning and gain insight into various methods of learning. Our future is in this very classroom, and it is with great desire that we excel beyond expectations!
My Project
We are in need of printing ink/toner for our class printer. We use this printer on a daily basis, often multiple times a day, for various teacher and student projects. We are constantly creating booklets for our reading class, RtI activities, daily oral language sheets, math charts, Social Studies maps, and student reports. Many times, students do not have the technology at home in order to complete reports and assignments, therefore, they use our class printer. It would benefit not only the class, but the parents as well! I often use this printer to type parent letters and other informative notes.
